Job offer disappeared?
A job offer was made pending a background check. I never heard back. Is there anyway I can check without it costing me, what was so terrible in my background check that made me lose this job offer?
I can send you hard copies of recommendations from previous employer that I have worked for. This includes phone numbers and emails. Please send me future correspondence through my email indybullies@yahoo.com
That happened to me bc my credit score is poor. Might want to check ur score (free at credit karma.com) to c what's on there. If it's ok, I'd check with the hiring manager (preferably in person) & find out why. Whatever the reason , it'll probably come up later in ur job search.
They finally called said they're still waiting, yet I saw where they posted the job again today. Might be my age??? Who knows??
It could be the results form the background check haven't come through yet. Some checks can take longer especially if you've lived in different cities. If it's been over a week then I suggest you call to checkin on your status.
Janet, I would call and follow-up with an email, asking for a copy of the background they received on you. Explain that as far as you know it should be clean and you'd like to make sure they received the correct information on the correct person. They will never tell you why they didn't hire you, and that's fine, but tell them you're very concerned about the background if that was all that we were waiting for to bring you into work. I bet you will find that that's not the only thing they were waiting for. They probably still have other candidates in mind. But definitely follow up.
