Congratulations on going back to school, my daughter is working on her CMA certification and she have found jobs within hospitals to apply for without her certs .. patient registration is one position and secretary for doctor offices will also hire you!! I think that is awesome what u r doing. But as u mention u still need employment. My suggestion do as the instructor told u, but u still can find something in the area of what u going for. Like work in another department in the hospital. We have to have money to survive.

You might try temporary agencies in your area. Another idea is to try Goodwill Job Connection. I would suggest part time work until you finish school.
