Confused

I applied for a job, went in for the interview, got the job and now waiting on my background check to come back. That has been over 1 week ago. The store manager keeps telling me that nothing has come back on me yet. (She keeps in touch with me) Any ideas what the hold up could be?

Background checks can take sometimes 2 to 3 weeks its the norm, I had a job that took a month on background check because they messed up.

Background checks can be a big headache for those waiting. If the company uses an outside agency to run them, then you have to worry about the volume they may have. Big company's like FedEx for example run their own, BUT, because they have a contract with the USPS (Post office) a second background check is done by the post office. So, if the company you were just hired into has a situation like that, it might take a little longer. I hope everything works out, just give it some more time. Congratulations.....

Melissa, disconnect and keep looking. Employers plays a hard game. This happens to million job seekers quite frequently. So, go find the right setting for your self. There are plenty more jobs waiting for you. Be encouraged and always express gratitude. You are always the winner! Best regards to you. Tamia
