I'm thinking about changing careers. How do I find a good job fit at Goodwill?
I have been with Goodwill for 9 years. It has been a great experience for me. They help you find jobs to fit your skills. Just come to any location and fill out an application on their kiosks and someone from HR will get back with you.
I loved my job with Goodwill. It was never boring! One day you're sorting and hanging clothes, washing and pricing misc. stuff from jewelry to measuring spoons.
People can be generous so you see a lot of interesting things. Running register is fun because you get to know the locals and meet a lot of new people.
It's not a difficult job to learn so you settle in quickly and the benefits are great.
The skills that I learned from working at Goodwill has helped me to land interviews for other jobs.
Good evening. I would say that if you'd like to work by yourself mainly, you can work with other people who sort the materials that come in. If you are a people person on the individual level, a good position will be receiving people when they come in the vehicles to deliver things. If you are multiple people person, then the front floor of the store will be more applicable to you. If you are cleaner like I am, and you like outside, to clean outside, if you're one that likes to clean inside, then apply for that position. However being short staffed at goodwill, even when I work there, you might be required to work multiple jobs in your 8 hour commitment to them. I wish you good luck and blessings on your search in changing your career. That is a very big step, and you're making the right decision in asking questions concerning it.
Depends on what department you are wanting to get into. There's anything from social work, HR to working with clients in special programs they offer.
