Hi @James Jackson! Congrats on looking for your #firstjob :)

Here are some more tips...

1. Look at the job posting/company website Some positions have age requirements in certain states. Since you’re under 18, take a quick look to make sure the job you’re applying for doesn’t have a minimum age.

2. Apply for places known to hire first-time job seekers You can apply online or stop by and apply in person! Check local grocery stores, movie theaters, retail stores or fast food restaurants. Some popular places include McDonald’s, Burger King, Sonic, Walmart, Starbucks and Old Navy

Search + apply!

  1. Click on “Jobs” at the top of the page, or head over here
  2. Enter a job into the search field where it says “Job Title or keywords”
  3. Include your location + click “search”
  4. When the list populates, click on the ones that sound like a good fit to learn more + apply

3. Consider other “odd-jobs” Jobs such as babysitting, lawn-care, pet sitting and delivering newspapers are also great options! Ask folks in the neighborhood if they need some help with any of the above and head down to your local recreation center or town hall. Many times there are flyers for gig-like jobs available in your city/town!
