credentials just won't do it in the job market.

Hello,

It seems to me you have to know someone to obtain a position these days. I have looking to work in HR since obtaining my Bachelors, now I have a MBA and it is still just as hard. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I have applied for entry level positions just to get in the companies and still no call backs. This is very disappointing.

Hi Latisha,

Yes, I concur! I agree with you 110%. Having credentials alone wont help you getting a job. But, I believe that networking and knowing the right people/person in addition to having the necessary skills and adequate education for the position will help you in getting the job.

It's great that you have an MBA and it shows that you are responsible and capable of achieving a lot, but it can be a catch 22 - whereas some companies may look at your resume and either think you're too overqualified and looking for more money , or there may be a slight suspicion as to why you're looking at applying entry level positions.

Have you looked at volunteering? Or perhaps joining professional groups in your area? Try engaging in as many business professional groups as you can and get your name out there. Good luck
