What’s a good steel toe work boot for warehouse work? I’m on my feet 8-10 hours per day, 6 days a week, and my knees and lower back are killing me. I’m not in horrible shape but this is new job so I’m still trying to adjust. I went all out with my first paycheck for a new job and bought a pair of Dr. Martens Safety boots for $150 but still no change after 3 weeks wearing them. I’m about to OD on Advil and Tylenol pills just to get through the shift. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Maybe get orthotics and take the podiatrist's recommendation for the best shoe. Also, you should do some stretches before work and at breaks. Ice your knees and elevate them. The first few weeks walking on a cement floor are tough, but eventually you get the right muscles.

I can probably lend you some valuable information that may be of value to you and solve your work boot issue. The company I work for is Only Work Boots and I believe that we offer not only great products but also great advice. Please consider the following:

First & Most Important Regardless of what I (or anyone else) states to you, at the end of the day you FEET will tell you without fail what they best feel comfortable in. In other words, your feet will ultimately inform you what boots are the best for you. This is the most important point we can stress to you.

Now, I will attempt to provide you information that will help you find the pair of boots where your feet will be happiest.

“Dr.” Anything with a“Dr.”in front of the name is generally not the best choice. Yes, they are good products but not necessarily the best (Dr. Scholls, Dr. Martens, etc.). They are are good marketing tactic because they have the “Dr.”in front of it and stipulate they are the best products…which is not the case.

Try your shoes Unlike the tires you purchased for your automobile, when one buys a pair of shoes you can test run / try them out. When you do try on a pair of work boots I suggest the following: Remove the insoles, place it on the floor, step on them get the feel of the insoles by themselves. Then place the insoles back into the shoes and try the boots on for a different perspective.

Insoles Sometimes the boots are great, but the insoles are not. Sometimes manufacturers will skimp when making the insole of the boot in order to keep cost down. Moreover, you should look for a SUPPORT sole and no other (comfort sole, hiking, etc.) We carry Timberland Pro Insoles because they have patented anti-fatigue technology and are antibacterial. In fact, most Timberland Pro boots come with these already. By the way, insoles created specifically for your foot are the best!

Brands recommended. It really has to do with how your feet react to a particular model. However, on a personal recommendation I like Thorogoods, Carhartt, and Timberland Pro as comfortable boots.

Good luck and please feel free to call us at 305.629.9029 if we can be of further help. Likewise, please feel free to look at our webpage: www.OnlyWorkBoots.com.

I agree with everyone on getting insoles but also make sure you have the right size. Work Boots especially steel toe require a ½ to full size extra in length or width to account for sore feet and fatigue. Go someplace where they have pre sales people that know about sizing shoes.

Wolverine and CAT manufactures a better working boot at less the price. Check if you can still exchange the ones you for one of these and use some of the cash back saving to get a good pair of insoles.
