I recently worked in a collision center as a receptionist. I am interested in finding a job with an insurance company. I applied to Geico and Progressive for Auto Damage Trainee. The experience I hold involved communicating with insurance companies and appraisal. I know a little of the terminology but would definitely need training. I understand the process of having a customer's vehicle repaired such as; the appraiser has to write an estimate on the damage they can see, then the technician has to tear down the vehicle, the body shop will then write a supplement on the additional damage, parts, or labor that was not included on the previous estimate, and send it over to the appraiser for re-inspection, and etc. I have the basic knowledge one would need, but looking to start a career as an appraiser/ Auto Damage Trainee. Please feel free to comment below with any suggestions. Thank you, Melissa Carpenter

If you want to get into the insurance game, life insurance is where it is at. Renewals are higher and you keep clients for YEARS. The residual income potential is far greater than in the auto insurance industry. I work for American Income Life, they provide me with all my leads and everything I need to succeed. All I needed was a car and a laptop, as well as the personal dedication to get my license. The test was hard, but it was worth it. I make twice as much as I did as a veterinary assistant and I do half of the work.
