First interview
I have my first interview ever tomorrow morning and I’m so scared. Anyone have any tips??

The best thing to do is just be you.... the wonderful you that you are. Just talk to them like they are your friend...minus the swearing or "dude" parts or "whoa... wait bra..." of the conversation. There is a time for that later. Make sure you smell nice, look good... shave.... you know. Make sure you look clean, neat, tidy. You get my drift. Remain confident in yourself and your dreams and aspirations. Hope you have those.LOL. I am sure you do. They will like you as long as you are you are yourself and you are respectful. I believe all people can be respectful and kind if they want to be. YOU CAN DO IT...BRO

Hey, goodluck n jope u get....i know the feeling. Interviews make you nervous. Goodluck n let me know, Michele

Just Keep it Real. Be yourself, not a robot, throwing out answers they want to hear. Treat the interviewer as you would anyone you first meet.

Hello Jake, I know that going to your first interview can be unnerving...and even frightening. As a former business owner and hiring manager for some of the world's largest companies, my best advice is to remember that finding your confidence is probably the key to winning the interview. Others here have already given you great advice on being prepared (knowing the company; its products, services and core values, etc.), so I won't reiterate what has already been stated. The advice that I want to give you is to go in with a winning attitude. Remember that YOU are interviewing the company just as much as they are interviewing you. You BOTH want this to be a good match...so take the time to write down a few really relevant questions that, when asked, say as much as they illicit. For example, asking a question about the company's policy on promoting from within also makes the statement that you are looking for a company that values those that perform and demonstrate loyalty to the brand. Choose your questions carefully. The most important thing you can do is to be CONFIDENT and prepared. The company wants to demonstrate to you why you should go to work for them...just like you want to demonstrate you are the correct candidate. Go in relaxed, put them at ease...and wow them with your great personality, knowledge of the company and on-point questions. Right before you go in for your interview say to yourself "THIS JOB IS MINE". You are going to do very well, after all the hardest part is already done...getting the interview! Congratulations!

Jake,
Keep in mind that you have information that you would like to know, as well. I'm not advising that you be confrontational in any way, but keep in mind that you have a skill set that is valuable in the marketplace. Keep in mind that your first interview probably has led experience in your specialty than you have. Ask questions, be involved. You aren't there to be thrown questions that you don't provide insightful answers to. Jake, you are trained well for this moment, the interviewer is likely as nervous as you. Remember, you only have a job to gain, whereas they have a job to lose.
Be well, do your research, and say something mildly clever.

Hi Jake, pleasure to make your acquaintance. My advice to you is that you do a little homework on the company you applied at and has seen well enough of you to invite you for an interview. This is a very good sign that you may well get hired! Knowing about the company will show the interviewer that you are interested in the position and are prepared to move forward! Be yourself, and don't lie about anything. Chances are you will be working there in a short while, so act confident, not arrogant at the interview. Good Luck and Best Wishes! Anthony Michalski

Hi Jake - First take the confidence that you made it this far in the selection process. Good job! Preparation is key, make sure you know the company and review the job description well ahead of time. As you read through it, think of how you would answer questions to what the job description is seeking. Read blogs or whatever on common interview questions. Now that you have prepped ahead of time, it's time to relax. They day of your interview, find the energy that gives you confidence. Could be a tune, a passage, a quote, whatever.... listen/read/repeat. I have certain songs I listen to on "game day" and as I'm going into the interview, I say the words (to myself) "Show time!" - this gets me excited and ups my energy. Good luck and let us know how it goes!!!
