I would like to work for a design team...
I have 13 years retail experience, 6 in customer service, total of 8 years in Network Marketing, which includes training, guiding, developing people. I have a diploma from Europe for Visual displayer, but coming to the USA I realized that here this type a job requires a bachelors degree and they're called Merchandisers, the displays and mannequins are dressed by the sales associates . Merchandisers have other jobs listed besides creating a display. Does anyone know how can I apply for the design team that creates the original display that is then sent out to the retail stores? I have an Associates in Fashion Design, and had been helping with staging for real estate agents. I don't know how to approach the design teams for employment.
Hi Adel, I checked the general job requirement information necessary for an entry level merchandising position and noticed the education minimum requirement is a high school diploma. A bachelor's degree is only listed an optional requirement. I've noticed through my personal experience in retail that most merchandising positions are filled from within the company but that does vary depending on the company. Have you recently applied for merchandising jobs and been turned down for not having a bachelor's degree?
Use the search option on this page to find local merchandising careers and carefully review the job descriptions. Use keywords like (fashion merchandising, retail merchandising, and/or sales merchandising) to query different results.
