Age and Employment

People who are complaining their age and not getting hired might consider contacting the U.S. Department of Justice; the White House and/ or send the President an email or letter. Don't be afraid because Trump really is good to talk to. They want to hear your thoughts. You'll find Trump on Facebook a lot reaching out to us and wanting our opinion on things

Good suggestion but unfortunately the road less traveled due to the challenges around actually being able to legally prove ageism under the EEOC laws. I’m still inclined to believe these employment issues are more directly aligned to the technological changes in the application process, appropriate/required skills, over-qualification, and cultural fit.

I’ve also noticed comments from some highly experienced individuals within specialized fields that are struggling to find employment and often wonder if these folks ever consider self employment. More and more companies are turning to contract labor for projects and a handful of tasks they can outsource on an “as needed” basis creating more freelance opportunities for individuals with customized and special skills. The gig economy is an excellent marketplace for senior level career job seekers. Employment opportunities are out there but a less traditional job seeking strategy is required to secure the right job opportunity.
