I kept a positive attitude at #UnitedstatesAirForcereserves by

I spent 8 years active duty in US Air Force when a maintenance unit ask me to become a civilian/reserve training manager It was the beginning of a new career for me. I stayed positive because I had the chance to meet and help new recruits or individuals coming off active duty I retired after 22years of service I would do it all again

IT Manager

i too always thought the same of on leaving AD after 4 yrs and joined the ANG 16 yrs and counting, finally got the retire eligibility letter but not until 60 to get paid...but i have no regrets of joining the air guard and using that part time status to get my CCAF AAS, BA, MS degrees and certifications. No regrets on my decision leaving AD because i accomplished so much and gained alot of experience as a DOD contractor...since it was hard to even focus in class after 8 to 12 shifts of manual labor on the flightline. Everyone is different but how we utilize that "time" to achieve and earn success....trying to push 25 years and hopefully land a stable senior level GS position.

What is the biggest lesson you learning in active duty versus civilian work?
