How do I re-enter job market as a medical writer?
I retired to raise my family, then became disabled. I've had successful medical treatment and can work again. There's a 17-year gap in my employment history, but my career is exemplary.
Any suggestions?

God is there for you! Trust and believe, you will be working in no time:))

Same way you found first job.God will found another job for you.god bless

First of all let me congratulate you on your CV not starting each sentence with 'I". That does tell me you have the skill set as stated. I searched indeed for medical writer in your area found several opportunities. There was also one looking for an RFP writer. How about contacting previous employers or search for like companies? Think about teaching or proofing CV's Your CV just jumped off the page for me. I am sure you will be working soon

Use the words "Encore Career" somewhere in your cover letter...

Network, network ,network.

I happy that you out weighed your disability, but I most say re_entry to school is the most strongest and extreme possible way

No one seems to value past achievements anymore...even more seem to resent those that took time away to raise a family for 17 years. Real Talk.
I think you re-enter by setting up an online presence with your writing...taking time to build a portfolio and getting your work visible again. Lots of outlets. Then, you can try to pick up some contract / freelance work with medical ad agencies. Don't expect to get a full-time position right away, if at all...ageism in full-effect.

Examine the employment ads for writers in general and adapt your skills therein

Job market in the medical field has changed so much. Begin by update your resume, start networking and start signing up with medical agencies that can help you find an entry level position.
