I can't bartend..... now what??

I have been a bartender for 18 years!! This is the first time I have not been able to find work. I was let go earlier this week and the entire state has shut down restaurants because of the coronavirus.

What should I do? I know I won’t make even close to the same money if I work as a cashier somewhere.

It seems like the places saying they're hiring lots of people are mostly warehouse/delivery or grocery - some of them are announcing raises or bonuses that might get closer to your bartending pay, or you might be able to work a night shift that could pay more. There have been some posts about how to file for unemployment while you look that might be helpful, too, like https://www.jobcase.com/conversations/4f6521c0-9801-4592-8570-6b02737f738f .

Most bartenders are very good interacting with other people, anything requiring these talents should be a strong suit for you. You may have to head off in a new direction. Good luck, Ford
