Question
On a scale from 1 to 10 how likely is it, based on past statistics that job seekers can walk away with employment on the day of the event?

In past years, some companies have conducted interviews on-site and it's likely that the same thing will happen again at the June 21st 2017 CItywide Job Fair. That really boosts the chances of getting job-offers soon after!
In general, as the hiring process is moving faster and faster, it's a good idea to assume that companies may offer an interview at any stage and be prepared for it. It's a great idea to have a resume on-hand (Jobcase is a great place to start) and also the Chicago Urban League (CUL) will have interviewing workshops in the day before the event - check their website for more info! http://www.thechicagourbanleague.org/

- if you are referring to a job fair.

thats a great question, Eric. This is our first year of involvement - I'll ask our friends at the Chicago Urban League what success was last year.
That said - in general, I think its a great opp for anyone actively looking. You'll have hiring managers/or talent acquisition managers from dozens of hiring companies around Chicago. And each company likely has many many locations of employment they are looking to fill.
Start by working on your resume/profile here (with good smiling picture). CUL has workshops leading up to the event you can participate in as well. This is one of those things that if you take full advantage of - you will likely ensure success!
