Offsite Property Manager at Budget Self Storage

I was just almost scammed

I never to hangout google and this person named chris kept messaging me wanted to offer 40,00 an hour and then they asked me to deposit a check and buy my own supplies I knew they were a scam . I am just so depressed I cant even get into an interview. in the mean time I have bills totalling about 3000 and no money coming in. I want to rent our the master bedroom but I am afraid I will lose my house on top of all this. I am just about ready to die. all my family is gone and its not for lack of trying to get a job. I sent out 250 resumes in 2 days on top of maybe 400 or so since I was let go. I dont know I want to give up. I just want a job.

If you can rent out part of your house, you're in a better spot than a lot of people. Try talking to your creditors and see it they'll work with you.

That said, $40 an hour is very unrealistic for a work at home bookkeeping position. And if you've sent 250 resumes in two days, you're probably doing it wrong. You should be tailoring the resumes and cover letters to the position. You might also want to try going to the temp agencies. Or get into customer service. It's high turnover and relatively low pay, but they're ALWAYS hiring

Hi Renee! I'm so glad you were able to see through that scam and avoid falling into that trap. I know you're in a tough place right now but you're a step ahead of where you could be!

Please know that you are not alone in your job search. There are a lot of other people going through what you're going through. And I know it's painful when you send out resumes every day and never hear back. Have you tried following up? It's always good to keep a list of applications you've submitted with the date you submitted so that you can wait a few days and call to make sure that your application was received and see what your status is. I also recommend networking. I checked MeetUp's website to see if there were any career-related groups in your area but I only found a couple (one for designers, one for moms). You could start your own, but that might be some work. You should check out community colleges near you, or community centers/adult education centers to see if anyone holds career workshops that you could be a part of. This is a great way to get to know people and start networking easily.

If there are any specific questions you have please don't hesitate to ask here in the community or send me a message. I will help you however I can!
