Possible scam?
I received a call today from a business claiming to be expanding to my area. The told me that there was to be a group orientation/class in a town two hours away and wanted me to go. When I told them that the city was not an option due to the extreme violence that has been happening there they said they would email me the information. I was okay with that until the woman told me that it would take THREE TO FOUR DAYS for the email. I do not claim to be computer/internet suave but I thought emails were almost immediate. Could this possibly be a scam or can it really take that long to send an email?

Hi Charity, that's a great question. If it is a scam I've never heard of it, but it does seem pretty suspicious that they called you out of the blue. Did you even apply for a job there? If you didn't even apply, then I'd say that's a bigger red flag than the super slow email.
The whole thing does seem to be a little off and if the city isn't even a place you want to go I'd say you should just scrap the whole thing and not bother answering their calls. In the future though, I've found these things most helpful in determining if something is a scam or not: https://www.jobcase.com/conversations/99b495e9-df66-5cb0-90f3-61718b0d4ecc
Just remember-- don't give strangers your personal information (including SSN or bank info) and don't accept ANY CHECKS for work you haven't done! And if it seems too good to be true, it's probably not true. I hope that helps!
