How could I tell them no??
I have working the closing shift a TON lately at Pizza Hut and when Sunday came around I was exhausted. I had cleaned up the back and the fridges and shut off the oven when I heard someone trying to come in. I had JUST locked the door and my coworker was out back taking out the trash. I took a look and it was a woman and her little girl at the door. I said sorry we are closed, but she pleaded saying that they had tried to hit a few places to eat on the road but they were all closed too. So I called out to my coworker and we decided to let them in. We fired up the oven and made them a pizza to take on the road. I have never seen someone so happy before. It felt really good.

Yes it was nice of you to do that. Just be careful your not there by yourself that late. Especially it does make yourself feel good to help other. Please be careful

That was a really nice thing to do. We should all remember to be kind to others.

Jessica you are to be commended, but as some mentioned here take precautions next time ex ,maybe let them wait outside while you made the pizza .this way they still get fed and you stay safe everybody wins Good job feeding others like God says "I was hungry and you fed me"

That was a very nice thing thanks there needs 2 b more caring people in this world 2 day

OH! My Goodness Just to read your story really touched my heart. This is why you had the third-shift position god knew that this day was going to come and that you and your co-worker were going to help these people in need. God is going to reward you for your support and the love in your heart you had given these people who were truly in need they tried every place they went to to get something to eat for her and her daughter and when they came to the final one you were closed but your heart and your co-worker heart opened up to let this lady and her child get something to eat. its stories like yours that really touches my heart you should be given an award for the best customer services award for the next two or three months and god is going to bless you for what you do and i don't know you but i am so proud of you and your co-worker.

I've read all the pros and cons here and I see both sides. It was a judgement call. I still think you did the right thing. But in the future, you might want to just notify the police as a backup before you open that door and let them know you are remaining open for a last customer and taking that chance. At least that way they are forewarned and you are still satisfying a customer under a special circumstance and need. Now if it was someone who looked suspicious and requesting to get a pizza after closing, you have to go with your gut feeling and follow store policy there... That's my opinion. But I agree, play it safe in either case. Have a backup notified! You still deserve a gold star on your forehead by me.

hello baby may God bless you for that work .from Patrick Uganda

how can u apply for pizza hut

Was nice thing to do . But having someone in after store hours is not only against the rules and could get fired for, but very unsafe to unlock the doors for anyone. Crooks come in all shapes and sizes, men and women. What would you have done if these were decoys to get you to open door. Closing time is when safe and drawers are full. Instead of patting your self on back , consider your self lucky your safe. As a man who closed pizza hut 5 days a week, I would not have put my employees at risk taking the chance unlocking any door after being closed.
Congrat on job well done
