Totally unprofessional
I applied for a job where my daughter works, there are no rules against it there. I interviewed with the head of that department and she loved me. I got a call to come back for a second interview to meet the rest of the department and answer questions from them. Afterwards I was talking to the department head and we were discussing pay. I get an email over a week later saying that I am no longer being considered for the position. The reason? The general manager, who never met me and has never talked to me said he had a gut feeling it wouldn't work. How do you get a gut feeling when you have never even met the person? They all love my daughter there, in fact, when I walked into my first interview I was congratulated on what a great job I did raising her! The department head apologized to me, said they had no idea this would happen. I will moved forward looking for other opportunities but this just really bothers me.
That's definitely really interesting. Were you applying for a job in the same department as your daughter? If so, maybe he was worried about family issues coming up at work.
