What is up with these staffing agencies?
Hi my name is Elizabeth and I just moved to AZ to start a new life with my 2 boys. Since the beginning of September I have been looking for a job. I've gone in and got applications, I was told to apply on line, I was even told to come in for job interview. Six times I thought for sure I had a job and six times they like ripped the rug right out from under me. I know I have a horrible background but thats not who I am. I'm just needing for someone to hire me so that I can prove not only to myself but to the rest of my family that moving out here isn't a mistake. I have NEVER looked for a job this hard before in my life. So this background of mine is like really in my face now. I'm so ashamed that its embarrassing to me.
Hi Elizabeth, Those agencies should have been more professional in the manner they handled your application. They should have disclosed the full hiring requirements and your eligibility to qualify for the job based on your background. Unfortunately, there's not to o many employers with the right insurance coverage or willing to take a risk in a second chance applicant but don't let that get you discouraged.
There's a new Goodwill store in Maricopa, AZ opening soon and they've started hosting hiring events this month. The next dates scheduled are Jan (16, 23, 25 & 30). All events are scheduled from 10a - 2p, at the First Baptist Church of Maricopa, 18705 North John Wayne Parkway, Maricopa, AZ 85139.
Goodwill also partners with other local employers to host hiring events in a variety of industries and positions. Most of the employers they partner with have good second chance hiring practices so there should be someone there willing to give you an opportunity. Take a look at their calendar of events to see if any of the upcoming employment opportunities meet your interests.
Stay Encouraged Elizabeth and keep moving forward.
