This forum

Just want to say it's really cool yall have this forum where you read other job hunters' stories or advice. Its frustrating and scary job searching when you're unemployed and you know your money is only going to last a few more weeks. Is there anybody here in the Houston area? I'm an accountant and there are hundreds of jobs but seems like 1000 applicants to every job I apply to. I'll get calls and then its like they just forget about me, I think they have so many to choose from that they get overwhelmed. I guess its better than no job postings. Anyways...I have found this forum helpful, it helps to hear others' stories and see that I'm not alone during this anxious time...wish all of you good luck!

Yay! We're so happy to have you as part of the Jobcase family, Amanda Fox !

When it comes to applying, make sure your resume and cover letter are strong. Together, these are your first impression to a hiring manager/recruiter! You have to use these tools to help you stand out against the crowd and showcase why YOU are the best candidate for the role!

Are you receiving phone calls regarding your resume or just calls in general from recruiters?

I’m just outside the Houston area and the only times I have gotten a job is networking. The most interviews I have gotten has been through Robert Half Office Team. While I don’t particularly like the temp to hire idea; they are getting me interviews. Good Luck with your search.

The best advice is keeping on trying but do not leav existing job you are working. At least your life is running. Then upgrade your skill for next job. These days employers prefer to people who have variety of skills variety of subjects that helps them terminologcally to make it a professional selection.

Amanda Fox, if you have a degree and experience. Apply with temp agencies.
