HangOuts

I am searching for a position as a Human Resources assistant or something similar. The past 3 job possibilities have told me to go to Google Hangouts to conduct the interview. Now, I'm kind of old school and prefer a face to face or even telephonic conversation so I am very leary when it comes to the process. Has anyone else experienced this and gotten hired ?

I had the same thing just yesterday. An email came from an HR person with an email address of a legit business in Australia and a link to their website. The hangout interview didn't take long, but it left me feeling sketchy. They didn't ask for my SS#, but promised all sorts of $. I dug deeper into the business website and found that no position was offered like this hangout dude was offering. Now I feel like an idiot because they have my name and address though.

If you are looking for a human resources position, on jobcase go to jobs and companies tab and enter Amazon, Carteret, NJ and the list has a position for HR assistant. Hope this helps you.

I've had two interviews with a legit company in California: I am based in PA. I know you can tell a scam if the so-called HR person is pasting bulk information into the chat box. No way someone could type that quicly. Go by your gut feeling

Hi Kenneth hangout might be OK if it were me I say do it the old fashion way face to face none of this SKYPE, HANGOUTS or any other means. If the company doesn't want to do it this way then don't waste your or my time . Good luck

Google Hangout is legitimate but cheap. It can work but will indicate to you that the company is cheap, and also NOT old school. Just don't give out any personal info and you should be OK.

it's a scam. If you have to go on Hangout to have an interview with them you should be suspicious. I was told that if their email does not have the name of the company in it then it is definitely a scam. I was on one of those for four hours, he kept dragging it on and then asked me for money. He told me Cigna would be giving me $25 an hour to do customer service and they would reimburse me the money for the program that they wanted me to install in my computer. They wanted my address all kinds of information. Beware of anything like that!

I did Google Hangouts once, and realized that it was a SCAM, and I did my due diligence, and it indeed was a fake job! I learned that any so-called interview on there without a face-to-face interview is a scam. Don't do it. Same thing with text interviews, some phone interviews, anything that is not face to face is a SCAM. And, do not give out any personal info, such as SSN, bank account number, and such. Contact the company on their website (if possible), and ask them if there is such a job available, if there is such a person whom contacted you, and, if there is an office in your city. Could be it's a real company and HR person, BUT others illegally used their company's name and logo for the fake company! Report the fake company to the real company. Do some investigating before you do anything! Beware!
