Don’t get to comfortable

Ok so fresh outta high school landed a job that I didn’t really expect to go far with it. Started entry level making $7.00 plus $1.00 bonus per hr if you were there on time all week. So $8.00 as long as you don’t get sick. after a couple weeks I started hearing others including management saying I wasn’t gonna make it even tho I was there 7 days a week 10 hrs a day. But I wasn’t gonna let them push me out. I continued to work. Giving it all I could and about 6 months in I was promoted to team leader, but that wasn’t good enough for me I wanted them all to eat there words I continued nonstop working hard and training others to do the job about a year later I was promoted to area supervisor, and within the next few years I was the one they were coming to, to move to different areas were they were having troubles getting it done right within 2 years I had been moved to all 11 areas of the production floor. I was promoted to floor general managing all areas directed the supervisors and a crew of over 150 team members. During the next few years my title had changed several times from safety manager, food safety manager, ERP manager, up to the on site manager. Which was the top position. Of the plant. I worked as the site manager for 12 years. I traced to several plants throughout the U.S. and finally come to a haunt after 25 years working with the company out of school and I only 2 unexcused absences in that time. I’m now 42 yrs old with a wife and 7 children. A new area manager was hired in which I answered to everything was fine for a little over a month. Then all the sudden outta the blue he told me that they decided to go in a different direction. At the plant and they wanted me to transfer to a different location. 700 miles away from my home. Needless to say I refused. I was not willing to uplift my family from our home. So I was fired. When I asked the reason I was told the plant was not happy with my performance. So now jobless after 25 yrs and a family depending on me!!!

I left PSSI as an Area Manager because I couldn't stand the way they treated their employees. Under paid, overworked and no loyalty.

See,This is the kind of BS that touches nerves an the next thing you know every body"s dead come monday morning,The person who did this to you is ruthless an most likely doe's not have a relationship with God,You don't fire people for any other reason than bad performance,Clearly this man was a team player hands down,You being fired sounds like it was either personal or it could have came from higher up for some reason maybe to cut back on pay who know's,Companies today don't need a reason to cut people,This sounds personal,This is why I don't buy sh...t an borrow money because when something like this happens to me I wont be having a pitty party,People learn to pack your nuts away for the winter so you will have a shoulder to lean on "your own",Their are other jobs for you buddy,Grab the bull by the horn an ride!

Wow! You have an amazing story and work ethic. You use what people said against you to driven your next career goals. I know right now it's hard to see, but take a step back identify where you want your career to go next. You have a lot of management skills so think about what industry would be of interest. In the meantime, I heard Amazon, Fedex, UPS is hiring during the holiday season.
