Sharing Some Great News!

I lost my job two years ago, I was sad for about a day, I hated that job anyway so I decided to start my own business - Plaid Lizard Design in which I provide Graphic Design services, I am a Graphic Designer. It was going well but not great, I struggled when clients did not pay me on time. So I started looking for full-time employment again. I am 58 so I was concerned with age discrimination but I know I am talented and an excellent dedicated employee. It took me a little over a year but I landed a great job with other talented designers and it feels like a family. I have been there for three weeks now, I miss my naps in the middle of the afternoon! Lol! I continue to work on projects through my business Plaid Lizard Design at night because I don't want to give it up, having my own business is still my ultimate dream job. Going to work both jobs hard for now. I also have so many other side hustles I am starting, sleep is highly over rated! Lol! In your 50's or 60's? It aint over yet! In fact it's time to ramp up! Need some encouragement? - hit me up. I also have a great tool that helps me get clients, land an interview and land a job. But too much awesomeness for one post so I will share that later. Now if I could only find a man!

Good for you. I am 56, and was laid off in March from my "graphic designer" mostly prepress job of 11+ years. I do NOT want to own my own business, and I do NOT want to learn web design or digital design. Therefore, I am looking at jobs that utilize the abilities of a Graphic Designer, of which there are many. I have applied to anything that will remotely translate, and no luck so far. I still like graphic design, but I really only know print design. I've always heard to do what you love and the money will follow. Well, I was doing what I loved, but technology has basically taken that away. I am so happy for you that you are making your way. :)

Take it from another product of 1959, you don't have time for a man. Eventually the plaid lizard would probably bite his head off. Sounds like you are doing great, keep up the good work, and don't sacrifice your health trying to burn both ends of the candle. Good Luck...
