I currently work on a team that is structured with money director (my boss), two managers (myself and another), and 12 senior/junior analysts below us split between us.
I just found out the other manager put in his 2 weeks and will leave the team short handed at the management level. We currently have no immediate internal or external prospects for the other manager position. Is now the time to approach my boss about a raise as I will be the only manager over 12 individuals? What would be a good % to shoot for? My initial thoughts are 20%.
I would absolutely speak to your boss ASAP as he is leaving soon and you want to set things in motion sooner rather than later. I would check out this post on how to [earn a raise] (https://www.jobcase.com/conversations/cf316c0a-a3d7-5f93-933e-757f10989898) and check out the tips. Keep us posted on how it goes, good luck Michael Keve !! : )
