LONG LOST JOB OF THE 1970'S
I worked at Pizza Hut back in 1975, and I was told by my manager, that I was being let go, because I was to young to serve beer. I was 19 yrs 8 months old at the time, my manager failed to tell me this at time of job interview. I loved baking pizza for the company it was lots of fun. But being let go because my District Manager came into the manager's office and she told her I had to be let go, still haunts me to this day. I never did forgive them for this, This happened right before I went to Marine Corps basic training. I STILL WANT MY OLD JOB BACK. CAN ANYBODY HELP ME?

Daniel- Where was that because I graduated in '76 when I was 18 and I worked at Pizza Hut that summer before Michigan State and I served beer (and drank lots of beer!). The drinking age was 18 in 1976, wasn't it? I know it changed to 19 the next year, 10 days before I turned 19 but I was 'grandfathered in' to serve alcohol (not drink it legally which we did anyway, because nobody cared that much about 18, 19 year olds drinking back then!) I think your DM made a mistake and you could have been grandfathered like I was, especially because we weren't even licensed back then. I used to close all the time and I was just a server who was a kid looking forward to college. I didn't have any licensure or special restaurant knowledge, it was my first real job, besides babysitting. My sister started working as a cook and I would be the server and then we had fun! I loved working at Pizza Hut, we would be super busy, understaffed, not properly prepped or ready for the rushes but I learned how to implement my work ethic, I learned working hard reaps all sorts of benefits, I learned the skill of small talk, Upsell and time management because of Pizza Hut. However, I can never eat a Pizza Hut pizza again and I still to this day have nightmares of standing in a full dining room, every table taken, no clean dishes with myself and a cook, my sister! And it would be funny if it hadn't happened to us numerous times! Okay, I guess, by the fifth or sixth time, besides thinking your manager is an imbecile, it is kinda funny...
