I deserve worker's comp
I work for a construction contractor and I like it almost all the time (well maybe like 75% of the time lol). For the first time in my career, I got an injury (broken wrist). However, because it happened on my normal day off and I forgot to report that I was doing overtime, my company refuses to acknowledge that the injury happened "on the job" and will neither cover the expenses nor even pay me for that day of work (since if they paid me for the work they'd be admitting I was working). Can I force them to do either of these or did I dig myself into a hole by forgetting to report the extra work?

Yeah, I'd say you did this to yourself. If there's no record you were working, then there's no way of proving it. Unless you can get statements from people who were working with you.
