I understand your pain. I'm 57 with an MBA and have not been able to get any new job. I've applied every where and get no response. I'm stuck in DCF and want out so bad. But what do I do if no one is even willing to see me to hire me??? I cringe at the thought of having to retire with DCF. The pay is lousy and they treat us like slaves.

David I know how you must feel because I felt that way when I didn't have my GED, But smart people would never judge those who are trying,or anyone at that, at least you have a job and picking yourself back up, before y you know it your efforts will be blessed. Sandra

Hello David, You have roof over your head that has an address. This should. Not make any difference to being employed. I am sure you must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test which is almost a requirement. Put in an application to Walmart it is not far from where you are. Like a painter on step up on the latter one rung at a time. Please don't sweat the small steps. Good luck. Keep in touch, Jesus is our guiding light. When in doubt KNEEL! RFS

Have u applied for GR/ general relief and food stamps? Maybe u can and should. Also residing at a shelter at times can increase your chances to obtain section 8/ or low income housing.... At times even without children. Go to a library or through your phone research it. Also if u apply for GR u can ask your local dpss office about such resources and if they still exist. If u located in LA ca, a place called beyond shelter use to assist those whom lived in shelters. There are several resources out there its just that located them takes much foot work...blessings!

Have you tried going back to the hospital? You were not fired. You had an extended sabbatical. I would check with them occasionally. God bless you.
