Am I hired or not?

A few weeks ago, I had an interview with U-Haul. I went well and was asked if I could start the following week and was even asked what size shirt I wore. I was told they would call me and let me know when I was to start... I'm still waiting!!!

Companies have resorted to old practices from years ago. An applicant don't have many options. Some employers think applicants don't have nothing better to do. What goes around, come around. A note to employers, quit jerking people. Do something constructive.

Jesse I wish you the best but hearing back after an interview seems in possible now a days.. I have went on three interviews that I believe went well and when I asked when they would make a decision in a couple weeks. I have called twice with the person who interviewed me and was told the 1st time that they haven't made a decision yet. Called the second time and she was real nice and apologized and said we haven't made a decision yet because we are restructuring> i asked would she let me know either way and she said yes. I had the test which I passed which led to the interview same day and this was January 14th still no answer over a month. The same thing happened to me with two other interviews in which they said they would notify me and I called back and they assured me they would give me a call either way. I know they can't respond to everyone who applied but I believe about 8 people interviewed surely they can send you an email back. It is so annoying!!!

Sorry about that. When they do that I just keep looking. U-Haul may not be serious about hiring or may have hired someone else. It is still an employers market. Most of the time they are not even courteous enough to let you know. I have found only a few that will contact you back.

Be patient sometimes backgrounds can take 3 or more weeks. Being in management was one of the frustrating things we had to deal with in background checks. If you move from state to state that can be one of the reasons. It all depends how H.R background is ran. Unfortunately with the world how it is today we have to be more theral. If you call them ask for manager and updates try and always speak to the same person. Good luck

I'd be patient, HR is much more complicated these days. You could give them a call and ask if you need to provide anything for them. Just keep it friendly and up beat.

Tendercare Rehab Center at Tendercare Rehab Center

My situation is a little unusual. I am 59 years old, in good health, a registered nurse by profession. I lost my hospital position in 2014 for an event that caused me to be placed on license probation. The event was non-criminal and non-drug related. In the wake of this I lost a second job. The reasons were the same: inadequate computer documentation of care, medication administration, etc., because I was used to paper record keeping and unskilled with computers. Now the probation order keeps me effectively jobless. I know skills upgrading programs are available but time - my age - and money are not on my side. And I have repeatedly to explain the whole business to each new nursing administrator and potential employer. Retirement planning is all in disarray. Scary for me.

My guess is that they googled your name and/or checked your postings on social media sites. Companies are doing this more than ever. They develop an opinion of you and judge you by what they see on the internet. It's unfair, and it's an infringement on privacy, but it happens all of the time.
