Personal information stolen or resume thief

I started using my current phone number since 2013. Since then, I got phone calls from strangers occasionally asking about Leah, whom I think was the previous owner of this number. Recently, I put out my resumes on job posting sites because I'm looking for a job. I received phone calls from strange numbers (I don't pick up the call if it's a strange number) and they left voice mails like this: "Hi Leah I have job opportunity for you in ...." I wonder if this is just an incident that recruiters just find old resume of Leah with her old number (my current number) and call her while right now i'm in the job market and have put out my resume all over the place. But why would they contact a resume of Leah that is at least 4 year old? So many questions which make me worry that my personal information or resume information just got stolen. Anybody have had the same experience or if you have some insights? Thank you!

Hi Phuong, what an unusual problem! It's possible that the resume is posted online and Leah never removed or changed it when she switched phone numbers. I would suggest maybe asking to see the resume yourself, or asking where they got it, and then telling them not to call you anymore. So strange though!

Maybe her number is only 1 number different than yours and they keep messing it up.
