Hi Julie Elliott , welcome to the community. It's unfortunate the amount of member stories about similar new hire experiences. Frankly, there should be some link of law that's holds employers financially accountable for misguided job offers.

Your career experience and expertise makes you a highly qualified and therefore within our current employment community a challenging prospect to match with employers.

My first suggestion would be to focus on all of your networking opportunities. Reach out to everyone you've ever work for or with and ask for employment leads. Direct referrals preferred!

Next, although an anxious undertaking, make every attempt to stay positive, committed, and driven towards connecting with the right employment opportunity because it's out there and only the right drive and attitude is going to bring you and your next career job opportunity closer together.

Customize and optimize your resume and application profiles to match exactly what employers say they want in their job descriptions and stay on point with that experience during interviews. This should minimize your over-qualification responses.

Remain flexible and open yourself up to new options, (freelance, self-employment, other industries, etc.). You never know where an alternative career path may lead you.

In the meantime... I'll keep an eye out for any interesting job leads and send them your way. Hope this message finds you well Julie Elliott . Stay encouraged!
