The minimum wage should be $50 an hour!
The minimum wage is getting out of control. In Washington state...the Seattle area, they now pay $15 hour to work at fast food places! Really? You think flipping burgers, bagging up fries and asking whether you want a medium or large drink calls for $15 and hour? The only thing that happens is.... The employer will cut your hours for starters...they will thin the herd too...if they have to pay that kind of wage for an entry-level job that requires basically no skill at all...then they will lay off 1/3 or more, make the others work harder and may even cut their hours to make up for the wages they are being forced to pay high schoolers...this country is getting out of control with this entitlement mentality. You are NOT entitled to ANYTHING! If you want a position that pays $15 and hour or more, get educated first...work hard at the job you have and you will be noticed, and maybe even promoted, and maybe even make what you think you are worth...but just forcing employers to pay outrageous wages for unskilled labor is not right.
Although you make good points. The cost of living is way too high to live off of 7.50 heck my fiance and I were getting paid10/11 ph and we're still barley making it by . I'm laid off right now and he is cut on hours I get fs but that doesn't pay for our 550 rent electric insurance..I just had my car repoed because I had to choose between the above mentioned bills over the car loan ...we watch movies or play games because we can't afford cable. So something has to happen here.weather it's forcing min wage to go up .or cost of living to go down

Around where I live you are lucky to make $10 an hour. I'll say that's lucky. And 50 dollars an hour sounds like .. I dunno.. But just working in a fast food place I can see their point of view.
