Ismail Fataar: I've felt lonely at times. It takes time to develop a network of friends in a large company. In most of my roles (smaller organizations) I've felt at home in 2 months. I did have a job for 4.5 years in a small office with only 2 other women. They both had been there for more than 12 years when I arrived & they never warmed up to me - or I them. I was very lonely there & only stayed b/c it was the first perm job I had after 5 yrs of temp jobs following 2008.

This is good advice Ismail. I also would add that being genuine in your interactions goes a long way with people in every situation. You may be able to fake your way through certain situations but eventually that will catch up to you.
