INSURANCE
Hello to everyone,
I'm so frustrated because i'm trying to get my foot in Insurance world, but so far nothing. If you have experience they do not hire you because you do not have the license, if you have the license, they do not hire you because you do not have experience. If you have both they do not hire you because you didn't pass the assessment test, etc..... Where i come from we do not need all this licenses. So everything is new for me here in U.S. I really would love to start a new, stable career in Insurance field. I have education and I'm also studying general insurance. I would like also to get a position in administration dept. / clerk in Insurance company.
Is there anyone there with a suggestion or...?
Thanks

Wwow,. Ins. License is only if you sale insurance right? You do not need it if you work in administration / as clerk for an Insurance company isn' it?. I read the link from Ashley W. and seems clear.

Sir, I have been a licensed insurance agent since 1995. I began with an agency ( which means commission only ) selling Medicare supplement and final expense. In those days the law required a sponsoring insurance company in order to get licensed. There is no such requirement now. If you want a license, study, pay the fees and get one. If there are assessments that you could not master; then you should try again and if they are still beyond you; then know that they are in place to assure that agents are qualified.

I would consider getting your license first and then applying everywhere and anywhere that you can. As an educator I am licensed in only certain states and not in others. Its just the rules and sometimes you have to play the game. Mention in your cover letter that you are new to the US but would love the chance to learn and be apart of their business. Tell them what you bring to THEM! Also mention your past experiences in your country and the skills you possess as they will certainly transfer over into this field of work. Wishing you the best!
Anyway thank you so much for your suggestions people :)
