Can a background check tell whether any previous roles where full-time or contract?

Hi Christina,
Sometimes they can. In certain contract roles you will not be an "actual" employee of the company because you are not on their payroll. In a lot of contract roles, they will use outside firms or temp-agencies that take care of all HR related topics and are your official employer. In these cases, the background check may pull up the company who is paying you. I hope this helps!
