Background checks for CNA Training!!! Why?
I was looking over the Red Cross allied health training program information and noticed that most of the health training programs like CNA, HHA, and Phlebotomy require passing a background checks before enrollment. I can understand why an employer would want to verify background information for an employee but it doesn’t make sense for a school or career training center.

They just want to make sure you've not hurt someone or done drugs

I was arrested for felony6 and was wondering if it would affect my chances of getting hired for nurses aide. It was last year.

To honest there is certain things they look for on your background and they also look at the fact that if it has been 7 years or 10 years, it really demands on the facility requirements. What they really try to weed out is felonies, but your misdemeanor charges may be accepted after 7 to 10 years depending on the charge. Just don't give up because God has the last word regardless of what Man says.

Background checks is good because they could be criminals for all we know. Also a lot of nurses are in for the money they don't really care about the patients. I saw a clip on facebook how the nurse treated a patient in a nursing home, makes me really pissed off!

Why wouldn't the school do a background check? There are certain requirements that need to be met before you can enter into the program. If you have any felonies or abuse charges, or any violent charges you can't work in the field.

Ok Enrique,
I don't see any reason why I wouldn't pass a background check. If I can own and register a gun, I should be able to pass a background check for school. How do you go about starting a background check for school would be my only question.

Thank Goodness for background checks--Now, if they could do this for welfare receipts as well I am sure tons of money would be saved! There is TO MUCH fraud & dishonesty going on today. Why would you not want a background check?? That is cause for a red flag to a potential employer for sure. Drug screens should be mandatory, random, across the board, also.

seems like Enrique has a problema..

I'm a cna certified nurse assistant from 2003 up til now I have work in nursing homes and private home I love working with elder people . I do not how to work hard and make the resident please.
The reason for this is to save the student time and money. Plus, a lot of schools are affiliated with extern sites that hire. Save the student a step in the process, they know that their eligible for hire.
