Inventory Taker at Rgis Llc

Desparate with a felony background

My felony was in 2005. I paid restitution and fulfilled my 6 years of probation. I had an inventory job for a little over 9 years but was fired because I could not get along with the new supervisor. I haven't worked in 2 years now because everyone does background checks and dismiss me as soon as they see I have a felony on my record. 12 years has been plenty of time to show that I am not the same person that made a mistake. I am willing to work at just about anything at this point but at 54 years old it is hard to try and start a new job career when no one seems to want to take a chance on me. Any suggestions would be appreciated but negativity will not help.

Davlyn Garver 2 m I found a job. I am glad to let you know that I found a job at Heritage Press. It is all new to me but I like it so far. I work in the fulfillment part of the business so I can see my productivity. Really excited and so completely blessed to have found a job at all. Thank you all for your encouragement.

Content Manager at Jobcase

Hi Davlyn! You're definitely not the only person on Jobcase going through this. To get some support there's a [group] (https://www.jobcase.com/groups/EFDAAB25684C498FB2AFCC626B1E30C4 ) here on Jobcase just for ex-offenders if you'd like to join.

There is also a fantastic resource specifically for ex-offenders you can find [here] (https://exoffenders.net/) that was created to help folks in your position learn about their options and provide the tools you need to re-enter the workforce.

Here is a list of companies that are commonly known for hiring ex-offenders (but not guaranteed) which you can find [here] (https://exoffenders.net/employment-jobs-for-felons/) as well as another [helpful site] (https://www.iseek.org/exoffenders/find-job/benefits-ex-offenders.html) that provides information about the benefits an employer will gain from hiring you.

When you are ready to start your job search simply follow these steps to find a job opportunity near you.

1. Click on Jobs & Companies at the top of the page, or head over [here] (http://www.jobcase.com/jobs/search)

2. Enter a job into the search field where it says Job Title, Keywords, or Company.

3. Add in your location by filling in your City and State OR zip code. Then click the magnifying glass to search.

4. Once the list is up, click on “View Job" of any you are interested in and then apply.

We are thinking of you and wishing you the best!
