Do companies hire at job fairs, what should I expect?
I’ve never been to a job fair before so I’m not sure if I should prepare like a job interview, print copies of my resume or create a business card?

Go prepared as if you were going on an interview. Recruiters may perform a quick first interview on the spot.Dress with a suit nice clean shoes, pressed shirt emphases on pressed and no flipflop. I have interviewed people that came dress as if their clothing was pulled out of their hamper. First impressions matter! Take multiple copies of your resume.

Hi Lamont:" In regards to your questions, do companies hire at job fairs? the answer is "Yes" I received two job offers. My experience with the various companies was very "up front and personal". They had the opportunity to meet and greet; discover if my personality was best fit for the job; I really got the chance to get inside scoop on hiring. More importantly, my suggestion to you " is to go prepared for on site interviews, print copies of your resume and have business cards ready and available. Lastly, dress to impress! Readiness shows you are serious and it leaves a lasting impression. Good luck on your job search! I hopes this helps. Dr. Willilams

Hi Lamont, Job fairs are a great place to get to know companies, meet people and make connections. Typically you won't be able to have a long enough conversation to consider it a 'real' interview, but make no mistake - recruiters and hiring managers DO remember candidates & it CAN lead to a job. So plan ahead with what you're going to do, say, wear, etc... and GO FOR IT! Good luck! Marijoy

More like networking. take a business card from everyone you talk to and let them know you will be following up.

Hi Lamont, That's a great question! Job Fairs are a fantastic way to meet multiple companies and get a better understanding of the jobs market. Typically the time is spent as more of a meet and greet, which gives you the chance to learn a bit about the company and for you tell give a brief overview of your experience and skill-set. They will most likely not be hiring at these events, but will want to collect your resume and any other information. I would go prepared with at least 15-20 resumes to hand out. If you are able to find out what companies will be there, it would be great if you did some research on them and figured out which ones you would be most interested in. I hope this helps! -Mark
