Getting nervous
I lost my job after a year due to internal high School rumors and gossip. Basically someone who didn't like me just continuously made my life at work miserable. Finally I lost my job. In the last 2 weeks I have put in over 100 resumes for office work. So far nothing not even an interview. I feel like if I could at least get an interview I'd more than likely get the job. I have even gone to 3 temp agencies and still nothing. Does anyone know of anything??? I now have a car payment and several other bills I have since accumulated and I'm getting very worried.

I am going through a similar situation where someone had created a duplicate fb page and even sent bogus messages claiming to be me. My advice would to be upfront when sending in resumes and giving them the heads up that there are false stories on the internet and socail media. This worked for me also, I went and filed harassment, bullying and identity theft charges as well. This let me be able to give potential employers proof that what was out there was not true. I hope this helps and good luck.

Hello Yvonne, So glad you could be a part of our Jobcase community! First of all, I would recommend you follow up on the resumes/applications you have already submitted. This can be helpful in checking the status and seeing if they might be scheduling interviews.
Next, I would recommend focusing on submitting 2-3 applications each day. You only want to do a few so that you can tailor your resume to each position you apply for. Plus this also gives you time to follow up on the ones you have already submitted, and also take a break! None of us are robots, and so spending all day submitting application after application becomes very stressful.
As far as temp agencies go, I believe you need to keep checking in with them to see what they might have. Have you at least gone in to meet with recruiters at the different agencies? If so, just make sure you call every couple of days to see what they might have available that you might be interested in.
I hope this is helpful and I wish you the best of luck!
I know this sounds old-fashioned-- but have you thought about printing out your resumes and dropping them off at local businesses and offices? I, too, have been out of work for a good bit and am frustrated with using the internet as a means of getting a job! Unfortunately, employers today do not want to see you in person, rather you get judged by a piece of paper. I made a little "Biography" about myself, which includes a nice picture at the top of the page, listing my beliefs, ideals, goals etc. I attach or include this along with my resume and business card. Sort of like a little promotion package! You have to get creative with it and see where it leads. They are also good for taking along to Job Fairs. It presents an instant picture of yourself. Some employers still like to see things in black and white! Good luck to you!
