Where I work as a temp I felt like I am in prison. They watch you all the time. Sometimes I regular employees act weird toward us.

That's a job, you are looking for a career. Check your job at the door when you leave. This can be done with a simple swipe of your left hand at the end of the day. You seem to care about your job and want more-look towards a responsibility such as inventory control or management.

Hi Larry, we all need jobs and need to work and provide for our families. At the same time don't let the other people you work w get to you. Your there to work hard and give it all you have. Alot of people Don't think like this. Yeah so what people are watching you and to me that would just make me do even better because you never know they can be watching you and maybe like the way you work and maybe it will show the permanent employees a different way of working to improve their work ethics. So don't take people watching you in a bad way. It doesn't matter where in the world you work you will always be watched or seen by someone,it could be for the good or for the bad. Just pray to and keep it going. Best of luck to you.

Well tje regular employees are probably worried that you may be their replacement. As for the company watching you, it is because we are becoming a moralless society. This is what happens when you take God out of our lives.

It depends on the company in my experience some companies treat their temps like aliens and isolate them and then other companies which I had the pleasure to work with treat their temps like regular employees and they welcome their expertise and presence. I would try to find a temp assignment where they welcome you in many cases if they like you they will hire you when their is an opening. Good Luck.

I know how you feel. USE IT TO YOUR ADVANTAGE. I employed many temps while in the customer service industry and most were better performers and more reliable than the permanent staff. Temps are trying to show their skills and earn a position. A great number of permanent employees feel entitled to their position and fail to always live up to the work standards. If you feel the management is constantly watching you then make sure they observe a great worker. I had a conversion rate in the high 90% for temp-to-perm when I had openings to fill. I also was able to let unsatisfactory workers if they failed to perform. I can say that my management had a short sided view that there was a trust issue for temps. However, I never had a security problem with a temp. They all came from the permanent staff. If the position does not suit you. Leave and pursue a position in a more constructive environment. Good luck and show your stuff.

Yes! I made the mistake of going to a temp agency because I knew they hired for the casino hotel. I made it only a few shifts at the place because I wasn't even allowed to go to the bathroom alone. It wasn't for safety reasons because the "on staff" employees were allowed to roam where they pleased. Now I do understand some restriction..but I felt like a criminal.. [no criminal history or background] I was purely there to expand my experience outside of Retail Sales.
