What training do I need to get qualified for a Assistant Manager job?

The bulk of my experience has been in retail. It depends on your experience, some will hire without , but most want you to have at least some customer service background, The one good thing is many do promote from within, so once you get in the door there is a great deal of oppurtunity

You need to know all positions in a restaurant and ifficiently know with speed of service . Also how to do headsets if there is a drive thru . And worki g as a team to have both sides running smoothly . Know where your slow point of service is and jump in to help to when needed. While doi g walk thru s and checking the i side and out of store to maintain as you go. Being laser specific what is needed to be done before everyone leaves and all checked out....ready for next rush

So I was an assistant manager for a gas station and I just worked hard, was respectful and helpful to all employees and customers, I learned how to do managements jobs when they were on vacation or out sick. The biggest thing that I did have to learn is how to have empathy but also hard love all at the same time. Once I became assistant manager the older people and also the other people who put in for the job didn’t like me so much. Yes computer skills and everything else is a must but also the mentally and emotionally part is just as important..

Every business has different forms of management, from team leadership to how to make scheduling, making decisions, and problem solving. Computer knowledge is a must, Microsoft office is a big help for back office work and end of day receipts

What qualifications do I need
First, don't focus on training. There is no generic training. What does exist our list of assistant manager responsibilities with every company your looking to apply for as an Assistant Manager. Knowing that makes it easier for us to answer your question. But I'll give you some of my background. I've been an Asst Manager +Manager with 84 Lumber, worked as an Asst. manager + Manager w/ Dominoes, and also a sales manager most recently with barnyard Utility Buildings in a Clover, South Carolina. The first thing I would do is make sure you understand all of the duties and responsibilities for the job your applying for. Review who you are and what skills you currently have. Are you motivated, are you persuasive, do you have the ability to train other people, and is the existing company culture a good fit for your management abilities. You can also go to Google + ask what the duties of an Asst. Manager for a Pizza Hut responsibilities are? You may have to ask that question a few different ways to get good info. And if you can find some audio and or video examples of an interviewer interviewing you while you watch, and you can apply an answer to the question. I would do that 5 to 10 times and improve how you answer the question each time. Also the last thing I think you'll need is confidence. Looking for and seeking out these types of answers and possible ways to improve your skills will help your confidence grow quickly. If you're a people person and you have the ability to establish good rapport and are good had explaining questions and what is involved in training and you have a good shot to begin with. Lastly I would visit several different stores and seek out an assistant manager or a manager. Ask them what is their most valuable skill and why. Communication will definitely be near the top. The ability to gain or create an environment with teamwork is another good skill. And the ability to diffuse an issue between a customer and a co-worker so that the customer is satisfied. You can do those things or if you can improve your skills on those things that I've mentioned above then you have the ability to create change for yourself and put you in a good position for a new opportunity. One final thought. You want to go through these exercises until you're completely confident about how you're going to answer different questions. Confidence and yourself and your abilities breeds confidence in your employer and increases the odds of being hired. Good luck and have a great day everyday! John
