Headhunter or Recruiter?

I’m thinking about using a 3rd party to help me match up with jobs that meet my career goals and salary requirements. What’s the difference between a headhunter and a recruiter? My financial resources are limited right now so affordability without sacrificing quality service is key. Any ideas?

Recruiters work for companies and find people for specific jobs. Headhunters are people who find jobs for you and charge a fee. Your best bet is to identify companies you want to work for, reach out to the recruiters at that company and ask for assistance. Another option is to reach out to someone who may be senior top the role you are looking at and ask about company culture, company directions, or anything to make a contact. After you establish a relationship, then ask for direction in learning about opportunities.

Names are interchangeable. Don't let someone charge you for their services. Companies pay a recruiter a fee to find them a new hire.
