It's all about your network!
I finally landed a VP level job after being laid off three months ago. As part of my severance package, I received three months access to a professional firm to assist with resume, interviewing, networking, and other learning sessions Several stats stood out to me that I hope many will benefit from.
- Over 75% of all jobs are acquired through someone in your network.
- About 10-15% come from you applying on job boards
- The average response rate to you blindly applying for a job is about 2-3%.
My advice, reach out to anyone and everyone. Don't stop the hunt and going to job sites, but don't spend the majority of your time there.

Congrats on the job Ken Eiden ! Thanks for sharing those statistics. Your advice to use your network really resonates with me. I am so grateful to be a part of this Jobcase community with such a large network of people to connect with!

Ken Eiden congrats on the new role! Totally agree on the advice of using your network...this community is a perfect place to meet and connect with folks that can/will help along the way. Best of luck at your new company!
Hey Ken Eiden , Congrats on successfully landing your job and for sharing these job search stats. The old spray & pray strategy seems easier and more accessible but the results don't add up to the amount of application submissions. Networking, however, might seem a bit more time consuming and tedious but produce better results in the long run.
Building the necessary skills to master the Networking craft also become more essential when seeking upper and senior level leadership employment opportunities. Thanks again Ken Eiden and best of luck moving forward!
