The company I was working at for the past 16 years decided to close in November 2015. I have been looking for a job since. It has been horrible, and I can't believe that I can't find anything. Plus my manager from my old job never responded to my requests for a letter of recommendation.

You know what bothers me the most. The same companies will open those same jobs for seasonal hires at less pay. AND, no one will same anything. My at advice is lets work together and help each other. I'll start. Express script is hiring. It is a virtual position that give FULL BENEFITS after 30 days. Its a good company to work for they have little to no lay-off. Go on-line to Express Script. Go luck everyone.

I lost my job from workplace bullying 4/15/15. I have been working a temp position since last October. I will be done with this temp position soon. I thought I did a really fantastic job for them and the skills, experience and friendships I have made are priceless. They want someone who wants to go back to school, get certified and licensed. I will be 60 years old in another month. I no longer have the stamina to work all day, night school, study and take exams. I LOVE what I do and am extremely good at it. But no one will hire a 60 year old full time with benefits. So sad and wasteful. I am an excellent employee with so very much to offer to a company.

Same here. Last day is on Friday sorry to say. Does anyone know if I qualify for unemployment after this week when I get let go from my seasonal job? I've been working since Feb this year if that helps. Thanks.

Yeah, I'm one of those who recently lost my seasonal job with a big box home improvement store. I thought I was doing everything right to get hired permanently but despite my efforts I was let go anyway. Employment booms whenever these companies open thousands of seasonal jobs that look good on paper in terms of national employment news but nothing is said when the jobs end. I fear looking for another job this time of year when companies gear up for holiday season hiring. I'll probably have to take on another temp/seasonal job only to find myself unemployed again in Jan. Is there a better option for unskilled workers?
