Seeking employment with a felony??????
I've been trying day and night, trying so hard to find steady, full-time, work. I'm searching mostly forklift operator and warehouse positions because i have exp in shipping receiving. I just have a criminal background and i dont know how to overcome this barrier. I have taken several steps to right my wrongs and contribute to society. I go to school, i do work but its under the table. I know I'd make a great employee to any company willing to give me a chance. I'm the sole provider of 3 children and desperately need benefits. I dont know how to deal with this, how far an employer goes back, what they can access, someone help... thanks

Im not a felon, and Im probably not from the same state as you, but mostly state government will offer certain job centers in heavily populated areas of the state, what you could do to start your search is to go to yellowpages.com and type in Job Centers in your cities of interest. Then, out of the places you find, eliminate the ones that do not work with felons, (which most of them do!) im sure your state has some resources available that you wouldn't think, but it sure cant hurt to try places like that! Goodluck! PS: I think some prisons have a convicted felon program for life skills and help with basics, like jobs... anythings possible.
Also... some states are making it illegal to ask about a potential employee's past criminal record. unless they consist of the big crimes, like murder, rape, kidnapping etc... I would look that up as well.... haha I watch to many documentaries. haha
