Hello, I am a Freelance Graphic Designer brand new to the Las Vegas Area. I am currently working as an Independent Contractor for a design agency in Summerlin and things have slowed down a bit. I started working for them 5 weeks ago part time 5 days a week and now they barely have enough work for 2 days a week. I know as a contractor things fluctuate work wise and a lot of smaller agencies hire contractors to simply "Catch Up". My question is outside of Freelancer, where do you find the most success picking up side jobs? I have been interviewing for several salary and full time positions but in the meantime I would like to stay busy and supplement my income. Sorry for the lengthy post! You could try advertising on local boards for your area - and maybe having yourself listed on thumbtack.com might help. I think you have to pay a fee for that, but you'd be able to write it off with your taxes as a work expense.
