I got injured on the job. I slipped and fell on black ice. I broke my arm had to go to a hospital for surgery. After receiving the surgury I noticed that I was unable to move my arm with any amount of full rotation. This was evidend after about a month after surgery.. When I retured to work I was told by the surgeon that this was going to be the best that I was going to get and. I could return to work, I. Could not move my arm whithout much pain and difficulty. I hired an attorney and he explained that I could get a second opinion. But when the second doctor explained that I had to have another surgury because the first one was done incorrectly I got extremely angered by this. Especially when I was told by the first doctor that I was good to go back to work. And the companies insurance company for workmens comp didn't want anu thing to do whith this. In fact the companies insurance company for workers compensation cut off my disabiliy checks while I was injured. They did this legally in court. I had to sue my former employer. I hired a lawyer but had to move 1500 miles to the west and live with my elderly parents. Thank god they helped me or I would had to live on the street. After I had to travel back and forth 1500 miles I received my second surgery. This while fighting the insurance company because they didn't want to pay. The only good think abut this is I was able to get my disability checks going again. But this took weeks to do and I had to wait a month before the second surgery. I had to travel for months back and forth to see the doctor. I was able to have local physical therapy because the insurance company would pay less do the fact that I would have to travel 1500 miles to get it where I was before. I have recovered now but what a problem. All the compamy had to do was pay for a second surgery. But they wanted nothing to do about this. The amount of payout I received was a joke! I got less then my lawyer and was less then what It cost me to bus and fly back and forth to see the doctor. So When your working be extra careful. But if you get injured be aware that the workmens compensation insurance companies are looking out for their best interest not yours. The only good thing about this is I am able to work and am currently working. And all I wanted them to do is fix my arm so I could go back to work.
