Illegal?
If I was fired and my employer told me they would not contest my unemployment and I recorded that without their knowledge can I use that in a court hearing or should I delete it?

I would record them and tell them I was doing it

If you get fired from your job then it is like a 16-week penalty before you can collect unemployment

Hi Tyler...what I know is this in court it's illegal to video record a person without there knowledge . I don't believe voice recording is illegal. However if I were you I'd go to your local department of labor and speak with them and show them your recording and see what advice they give you. It's against the law for your employer to fire you and refuse unemployment.

I would've asked for that statement in writing. But to be sure the company not black balling you. Have a FRIEND call for an reference check on your work to see what they say.
plus KEEP the recording bcuz if it came to that they can say I never said nothing like that.

You just need a letter saying you got terminated ask your employer

You may rerecord your employer with consent. The law is called "One party consent law". With out your ex-employers approval you cannot use it.

That u may not use in court by law do to you never told them sorry

It is not valid anything that is recorded without prior consent will not stand up in court!

If you get fired you don't qualify for unemployment it's only if you get laid off like if the company closes or down sizes
No you cannot. You have to have the other parties permission to record them on tape. It is illegal to actually record somebody without their knowledge I know this from experience
