My point exactly. People on here are lost. It is about insurance regardless of what anyone thinks. The insurance companies are the one that pays the suits if one ever does commit an offense and the company is sued as a result. Once a person does his time and completes any parole/probation their past should not matter....regardless of how long ago or what the crime was. And for everyones information a felony background check doesn't just go back 7 or 10 years. A felony conviction shows up on a background check regardless of how long ago it was. If it happened as an adult it is on your background. Mine was 17 years ago and I was told the reason I was being let go was because the insurance policy forbid them from hiring felons. Everyone deserves a chance to make a living and to prove themselves. Good thing God doesn't hold our past against us or we'd all be condemned.

Insurance does not have the legal right to dictate my work place policies. When you have ran your own business then you will figure that out. I wont hire anyone that has been convicted of any sort of financial fraud. My customers have the fundamental right to hand their credit card over for payment without the proven intent of their information being illegally used and or duplicated. I have the RESPONSIBILITY to everyone to minimize that risk. And I didnt have to clear that with my insurance company. You have no idea what you are talking about. If you cant speak from experience...rather than opinion....then all you are doing is stirring up crap with absolutely no resolution. Dont try and blame us business owners for protecting our interest by applying a little common sense.
It's also about illegal immigrants. Since Homeland Security started cracking down, the easiest way to check to see if you were born here is to do a background check.
