Hey so companies are actually not allowed to get your credit score. They do a credit check, which tells them about your debt and repayment history.. so they don't actually get to see the real score but just a brief example of it. Places do this too make sure you're responsible and to see what kind of person you are. Also when companies do this they have to ask for your permission for it or they can't. And its considered a soft inquiry on your credit so it doesn't bring down your credit score like a hard inquiry would.
